WELCOME

Welcome to the Physical Education Teacher Education Program (PETE) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The Physical Education Teacher Education Program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale prepares students for licensure as a K-12 Physical Education teacher in the State of Illinois. Reciprocal license agreements allow graduates of the Southern Illinois University Carbondale PETE program to teach in several other states around the country. The vision of the program is to not only prepare students to become excellent physical education teachers, but also valuable members of the school and local community.
